Course Description:

This course will introduce you to some of the most important and well-known Spanish and Spanish American short story writers in the late 19th and 20th Century. We will study this varied selection of texts within their contexts, so you will gain an awareness of the cultures within which they were produced. Additionally, we will examine some non-literary modes of telling stories, such as music, photography, film and painting. You will also have the opportunity to read stories aloud, tell stories in your own words, and participate in collaborative story writing.
