Information for Students
The SPNHA Student Consulting Center offers opportunities for students to truly engage in cross-disciplinary teamwork in a real and applied way. By working with health and nonprofit organizations throughout Michigan, students will have the opportunity to hone skills and further cultivate the knowledge acquired in the SPNHA program.
Students will be selected through a competitive application process. Students must have completed a minimum of 15 hours of coursework in either the MPA or MHA program and must be in good standing. Applicants selected as Student Consultants will
- receive a $300 honorarium; and
- will enroll in PA 693 – Research Project. PA 693 can be substituted for PA 619 in both the MPA and MHA program.

Summary of Criteria for Team Selection
Students who meet the following criteria are more likely to be selected for project participation than those who do not:
- Good academic standing with all core courses completed
- Professional experience and academic work related to the project requirements
- Demonstrated leadership and teamwork in coursework and MHA or MPA program
- Balance among team member skills and experience
- Ability to meet deadlines and follow through on commitments
