Resources for Learning SDA

Tutorials on Using SDA

Use these tutorials for analyzing data;

An overview of SDA’s Features See Part 2, “Part 2 presents the practical application of SDA's features, using a specific ICPSR dataset to demonstrate how to conduct analyses on the data, as well as how to use other features like new variables creation, subsetting, and downloading data.”

A more general introduction to SDA, if you’ve forgotten why you are using it:”This webinar is a demonstration of SDA, an online data analysis tool that allows users to perform statistical analyses without SAS, SPSS, or Stata. It shows you how to find and access data that are SDA-enabled, and it demonstrates the statistical analyses that can be accomplished in SDA.”

A PDF Handout on Data Analysis in SDA from The University of Toronto. It’s lengthy and focused on Canadian survey examples, but the commands are the same as ours.

Another handout on using the RECODE and COMPUTE commands, as we did in the last lab.

Some screenshots of the creation of new variables in SDA, as we did in class.  Setting up the input and output levels , the recoded levels of each with a label for the variable, and the output screen.  Try creating your own party identification variable that matches this screen of results.
