M.M. Azizur Rahman is currently a Full Professor in the School of Engineering at Grand Valley State University. Dr. Rahman joined Electrical and Computer Engineering program in the School of Engineering as an Assistant Professor in September 2002. He obtained a Bachelors (1994) and a Masters (1996) degree both in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from BUET. He  received his PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Victoria, Victoria, British Columbia, Canada in 2001. Prof. Rahman has been teaching and conducting research since 1994. At GVSU he was responsible for developing Energy and Power Systems laboratory in the School of Engineering. His teaching and research areas of interest include analog electronics and circuits, soft-switching techniques in power electronics, digital logic circuits, and power systems. Dr. Rahman is a Commonwealth Scholar and a recipient of the University of Victoria President’s Research Award for two consecutive years (1998 and 1999). He was also a nominee for the British Columbia, Canada Advanced Systems Institute (ASI) outstanding graduate student award 1997.

Dr. Rahman is a Member of American Society for Engineering Education, ASEE and a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, IEEE. It is noteworthy that Dr. Rahman’s mother (being nominated  by Dr. Rahman) received Ratnagarva Maa 2012, a national award conferred upon her by the honorable Minister of Education, Government of Bangladesh.
