About The Author
Dr. Hari Singh has been a professor of economics for 16 years. He has conducted extensive research in the psychology and economics of decision-making. He is the editor of the Seidman Business Review (circulation 14,000) a journal for business executives. Professor Singh has taught courses at the University of Illinois at Chicago, San Diego State University, and Grand Valley State University. He became a full tenured professor six years after obtaining his doctorate.
He presently chairs the Economics Department and teaches in the Seidman School of Business. The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB International) has accredited the Seidman School of Business. Professor Singh teaches decision-making courses at the undergraduate and MBA level.
Professor Singh has conducted numerous decision-making seminars. He has consulted for various organizations: World Bank, National Science Foundation, United States Information Agency, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and American Express. The National Science Foundation project analyzed how homeowners evaluate the risk of earthquakes in California. He has been a Fulbright Professor to Malaysia, where he taught forecasting and decision-making to senior civil servants.
Dr. Singh has published over twenty-five refereed articles in professional journals. One of his articles, “Economic Behavior,” was published in the Encyclopedia of Human Behavior.
Professor Singh speaks regularly on economic issues to the business community. He has been cited frequently by the Grand Rapids media on various economic issues. His comments are frequently published in the Grand Rapids Press, Shoreline Business Weekly, andGrand Rapids Business Journal. He is often featured on local television and radio broadcasts/interviews.
