Research My research interests lie in digital rhetoric, technical communication, social computing, human-computer interaction, and Internet studies. I am interested in studying how users in different cultural contexts adopt a new digital literacy practice by localizing an emerging technology in their lives and how the local writing practice acts as a local uptake to the global discourse in a globalization age. My recent article was awarded as the best article of Technical Communication Quarterly in 2006. Teaching I teach the design, production, evaluation, and analysis of multi-modal communication (including verbal and visual) in a technological and professional context. My teaching experience includes introductory and advanced courses in professional writing, composition and ESL writing, document design, web and multimedia writing, content development, writing internship, and computer-mediated communication.
