From the time of Hedy and George’s Secret Communications System to Spread Spectrum today, the technology has proved itself worthy of the attention that it deserved in the 1940’s. Time eventually caught up with this technology. Likewise, the inventors of this technology need recognition for their succesful efforts. In March of 1997, the Electronic Frontier Foundation gave Hedy and George a special award. George never had the joy of accepting this award. He died a poor man before his music and their technology was appreciated. "Hedy Lamarr, Hollywood actress, was also a brilliant inventor. She got paid for her movies, but not for her invention" (FORBES). The two inventors never got paid for their invention, but atleast they received the recognition they deserve.
