What is Biometric Screening?  Many of the health related costs that come with large corporations stem from preventable health problems that go undetected among their staff. Early detection and treatment of conditions such as hypertension, dyslipidemia, tobacco use, physical inactivity and metabolic syndrome can save a company millions of dollars each year. For this reason,  biometric screening, which assesses these health risk variables among company staff, can be one of the best investments in employee health and health cost savings.

Job Responsibilities

These jobs involve testing large numbers of individuals at a time. You need a variety of practical laboratory testing skills, good personal communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Skills: Blood pressure assessment, submaximal and field-based aerobic testing, a variety of body composition techniques, finger puncture blood draw (phlebotomy helpful!), using blood analysis equipment, Health History assessment and intake,

Education and Other Qualifications

Typically, B.S or Masters degree in: Wellness, Exercise Science, Public Health, EMT, Nutrition

Other possible credentials: CPR certified, First Aid, Certified by ACSM (HFS), Registered Dietitian, RN (nurse)

Experience: An internship in Biometric Screening is essential so that you have the repeated exposure to high volume testing as well as working with the client and the employers.
