My online persona
I am teaching three (3) graduate courses this term (Winter 2017) - EDT 621 Topics in Educational Technology, EDF 660 Educational Inquiry & Evaluation, as well as advising capstone students in ED 693 and EDT 685. I continue working on scholarly projects, including evaluating student learning as participation in asynchronous online discussions (AOD) in our graduate courses the examining the role of instructor presence in learning.
A formal evaluation of our online M.Ed. degree in educational technology was published in the Journal Studies in Educational Evaluation (December, 2016). I also review articles for the Journal of Educational Computing Research and the Online Learning Journal. Our M.Ed. degrees in educational technology recently received national recognition from our SPA (ISTE/CAEP) and have been ranked as one of the best online graduate education programs by U.S. News and World Report over the last three years which is something we are extremely proud of!
I am also a steering committee member of the MACUL online/blended learning (OBL) Special Interest Group (SIG) and actively participate in SIG offerings, the annual conference and volunteer support for the Groundswell and Railside/Creek Connections K-12 environmental stewardship projects.
the personal side, I spend as much time outdoors as I can, hiking,
golfing, biking, and taking outdoor photographs in West Michigan.
All of the photos on this site are mine and I posted some of my
