Christmas Tree Shopping

by Jess Hendriksma

Since we moved to Michigan, we have gotten our Christmas tree with our friends the Johnson’s. We’ve done it that way since before I was even born. We have them over for lunch before. Then we get ready and get in the car and go the tree place. We usually take our dog along so she can run around while we look for a tree. She is always very happy like a little kid on his Christmas. She is always really tired on the way home. They take you out to the trees in a tractor pulled trailer. You spend about 10-20 minutes trying to find a tree and then the tractor comes back to get you and bring you to the parking lot. You wait in line to get the loose needles taken out and then the tree gets wrapped up in twine to take home. Then you wait in another line to pay. When we get home we get out all the decorations and decorate our whole house. We don’t really put that many decorations upstairs, I don’t know why. Most of the downstairs is usually covered in all sorts of decorations. It will be different next year since my sister will be in college. Hopefully she can still come.
