A system is one or more elements standing in mutual in teraction. There are seven basic properties of a system that must be identified in the formal modeling of systems. There are other properties of systems, some may not be mutually exclusive of the first seven, and thus are evaluated in the modeling process.
A system is best studied using a systems approach which is a ( there is more than one) scientific method for solving problems and answering questions.
Some systems are concrete, others are abstract.
