The Beaches of Sydney

Certainly, when one thinks of Sydney, its world class beaches jump out as one of the city's most important assets. Manly Beach and Bondi Beach are surfing beaches with reputations known around the world. Nearly everyone in Sydney is close to either an ocean front or harbour view, and for a large number of people, live right on the water. We will explore how good planning has allowed cool neighbors and great scenic beauty to co-exist that delight tourists and provide some of the best quality of life anywhere in the world.

Manly Beach to Spitz Bridge Walk
One of the most challenging walks we will encounter, Manly to Spitz Bridge is always a highlight. There are few walks in and around Sydney that can compare with this one in terms of natural beauty, interest and scenic appeal. The largest part of the walk is through native bush and feels a million miles from civilization but yet is only about 6 miles from the heart of one of the world's major cities. This walk has everything!!!

Bondi Beach to Coogee

Bondi Beach to Coogee is a spectacular three hour cliff walk which goes by tidal salt water swimming pools, some of the most famous surfing beaches in Australia, an ancient cemetery and wonderfully embedded neighborhoods where residents don't have to walk far to catch a wave, enjoy the rugged scenic beauty of the Pacific coastline or stop off at a popular cafe.

Headstone
Waverly Cemetery, established in 1877, houses some beautiful headstones and an equally impressive view of the ocean.

The massive sandstone cliffs hold back the pacific ocean, sometimes over a hundred feet high. This walk always insures a fascinating and exciting adventure..

Birds eye view of Palm Beach
Beachgoers scatter Palm Beach on a sunny day. Australia has, on average,340 sunny days every year.

Like Malibu Beach or Carmel in California, Palm Beach is known as a location popular with Australian stars. Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman used to have a home in Palm Beach. Palm Beach is about an hour from Sydney, accessible by bus. In addition, to a beautiful, tranquil beach, we will take a ferry to the A-basin, an Australian national park where we will head to the summit and view ancient Aboriginal rock carvings.
