With other members of your working group, discuss ideas for your personal portal page appropriate for yourself and for the other students in the class and the interested campus community. You already have an index.htm (frontdoor) page for this class, but Project II asks you to spend some time designing that to create a professional appearance with image and content appropriate for a workplace setting. Contents: links to your individual project pages, biographies, professional front-door theme. Emphasize usability and navigation across sections of your web site.
You should update this site as we finish projects. You should also be revising the graphics and contents of this site as you learn more throughout the semester. I will establish an "initial grade" for this site before next week's class.
I will show you how to create "text images" in Fireworks in order to complete this assignment. Your Project II page does need to contain some image text from Fireworks.
This example for Project II contains image text and three "layers" (a Dreamweaver term). You are not allowed to use more than three layers on the page for this project. Your Project II must also use CSS. I will explain CSS and layers when this project is introduced.
